LEAGUE POLICIES (as of December 1, 2006)

DUES
$30 per month, due the first week of each month. $5 charge will be added if paid the second week of practices- cash or check. If not paid during week two, skater will be considered on probation and be required to sit out of the remaining practices of the current month. Upon the start of the next month, skater will be required to pay the past due amount ($35) as well as the current amount in order to participate in practices. Dues will be used to pay for team expenses including, but not limited to, private rink time, website and advertising, costs associated with maintaining the league as a business, and merchandise.

ATTENDANCE
Skaters will be required to attend a minimum of 6/8 team practices per month (see our practice schedule). Skaters may substitute one private practice for two open skate sessions a maximum of once per month. Some exceptions will be made in cases of illness, business trips, etc if the skater gives appropriate notice. There is a $5 penalty per unexcused practice over the limit, to be paid with the following month's dues. If work or school will prohibit you from being able to fulfill the attendance requirement, please reconsider whether or not you have the time available to commit to joining a team. Attending many public skates is not an effective substitute for team practices and unfortunately there is no way to work around every single person's schedule. Along with attending practice, each skater will need to attend one meeting for their CCRG committee and one fundraising/benefit/public appearance event per month (if applicable). Regular attendance is an important safety factor for you and your teammates. We would also like everyone to make an effort to attend one open skate per week-- we won't be keeping attendance for these, but it will help Skatearound generate more business and continue to allow us to practice at a discounted rate. It's also a good time to work on special skills outside of organized practice (turn stops, running toe starts, skating backwards, skating on one foot, etc).

SAFETY
Upon deciding to join Classic City Rollergirls, each skater will need to have their own safety equipment. The minimum for this is knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards. Helmets and mouthguards will be required for bouting and it is preferable that everyone gets these items sooner than later so that we all have teeth left. Skaters will not be permitted to scrimmage without helmets, mouthguards, knee, elbow, and wrist guards. Seriously, you can only practice so hard without having pads or wrist guards to protect yourself.

USARS
All skaters are required to register with USARS yearly. Registration forms are located at usarollersports.com and can be completed and turned in to the Rules Head of Skate with a check and a copy of your photo ID. The fee will cover some catastrophic insurance should you be injured during a bout and not have personal health insurance. If this is an issue for you, please check out the information on their website (www.usarollersports.com) for more details. Again, skaters will not be permitted to scrimmage without USARS insurance.
