CCRG Helps Habitat for Humanity
Saturday, November 21st the girls helped to build a home in the Athens Area. They finished up some trim and put in a french drain during their day on the site. And, thanks to Athens Vegetarians (http://www.meetup.com/AthensVegetarians/), the group enjoyed an incredible, all-vegan, hot lunch. We couldn't have been more surprised or thankful! If your group is looking for a service project, Habitat is always looking for volunteers and there are many ways to help. You can work at a build site, help at the ReStore, join a committee, donate lunch to a build site, volunteer in the office or find another way to help. The Classic City Roller Girls are proud to announce their selection of HandsOn Northeast Georgia as this year’s community outreach partner. The local HandsOn office is one of the programs of Community Connection of Northeast Georgia that helps individuals, families and corporate and community groups find flexible volunteer opportunities at various organizations in Athens-Clarke and Oconee Counties.
As part of their ongoing tradition of commitment to community service, CCRG will focus their 2009 outreach efforts in partnership with HandsOn Northeast Georgia throughout the season. Roller derby fans are invited and encouraged to work along with CCRG by registering to volunteer through HandsOn Northeast Georgia.
