This war on wheels will feature CCRG’s trained skaters who dedicate seven hours a week to learning the sport of roller derby, from endurance and skating techniques to strategy. This group of women is diverse in age, profession and past experience with sports, but works together as a cohesive unit in one of the fastest growing sports in the world. The bout will also include numerous volunteers, such as referees and non-skating officials and more.

You’ve been to a roller derby bout and thought, “I can do that.” You’re looking for a fun, new sport that puts you hip to hip with the coolest girls in town. You’ve always wanted to participate in a full contact sport and unleash your pent up aggression. Do you love to skate as much as we do? Sounds like you would be interested in waging war on wheels with Classic City Rollergirls! We are holding tryouts Sunday, April 22nd, 8:30am, at Skate Around USA, 3030 Cherokee Rd., Athens, Georgia.

During the week before the bout, we will send an email with the bout day volunteer assignments and orientation materials. If you aren’t chosen for a volunteer position, it’s not because we don’t appreciate you! Volunteer spaces are limited and preference is always given to rollergirls and trained/experienced volunteers. Lucky for us, you can help SAVE OUR SKIN! Through the SAVE OUR SKIN! campaign CCRG will raise $30,000 to purchase a portable flooring system. With this floor, we can dramatically increase our level of play and safety while continuing to bring hard-hitting action to our fans!
